Method
  • Get the patient to take a bubble remover in the stomach before the test to clear the gastrointestinal tract.
  • By taking or injecting gastric secretion and motility inhibitors, gastric motility and gastric mucus secretion are suppressed to facilitate examination and observation.
  • An anesthetic (lidocaine spray) is sprayed into the throat to anesthetize the throat.
  • For sedation (sleep) endoscopy, intravenous injection is given, and blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation are measured.
  • Before the examination, lie on your side on the examination table with the left side of the body facing down and bite the mouthpiece.
  • After inserting the endoscope through the mouth, the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum are observed. During the examination, a biopsy may be performed for an accurate diagnosis.

Colonoscopy

About the procedure

A test method to diagnose inflammation, polyps, and tumors occurring in the colon by inserting an endoscope through the anus and observing the colon.
In addition to the purpose of diagnosis, colonoscopy can directly biopsy the abnormal area. It can also be performed for therapeutic purposes, as polyps can be removed immediately, and hemostasis is possible in case of bleeding.
