Neurology is a field of medicine dealing with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nervous systems, muscle and their supplying vascular systems. It is distinguished with psychiatry in its approach to care the mental disorders and with neurosurgery that manage neurological diseases with surgery. Specifically those symptoms required neurological care are as follows: headache, dizziness, vertigo, shaking or numbness in extremities, facial palsy, myalgia, neuralgia, weakness, sensory changes, ptosis, diplopia, hemiparesis, language dysfunction, change of consciousness, seizure, muscle atrophy, memory impairment, gait disturbance, insomnia and other sleep related disorders. These symptoms are more common in elderly population but can also be found in young students. The Neurology department of KAIST Clinic provides students and researchers with specialized services for headache, dizziness and sleep disorders that are more common in KAIST society. We also take care of symptoms such as memory impairments or those from stroke for the families which are special interests of Dr. Yong Jeong.
